Batteries and the low emission transition: Regulation and innovation policy for a competitive and sustainable Norwegian battery industry (Søknad)

Primary objective: Advance knowledge-based battery policy in order to accelerate the Norwegian transition to a low emission society
Secondary objectives:
- Unpack key macro-economic and macro-political trends such as the EU-China battery competition and specific provisions that can be expected to come in the wake of the European Green Deal.
- Identify how overarching policy pledges (European Green Deal, forthcoming Norwegian action plan on circular economy) related to green public procurement (GPP) and transport sector batteries can be translated into simple, actionable, and wide-ranging guidelines.
- Identify factors that may determine the successful emergence of battery-related industries in specific regions in Norway and contribute to the formulation of future, pro-active innovation policies at local, regional, and national levels.
